Notable Mid-Week Series:

Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros—Oakland is a team that has been on our radar. They have been pounded bad teams making bettors money. Now they are beating the good teams. Oakland comes off an impressive 2-0 road win at Houston on Monday to move 11 games over .500.

Astros are being pushed by Seattle in the AL West. They had won six straight until their loss at home to Oakland. Houston starters and relievers combine for an ERA under three this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies—Arizona has had good success against the Rockies this season winning five of the six games scoring eight runs or greater in each win. Diamondbacks open this series dropping seven of ten.

Colorado has been hot winners of eight of ten after winning two of three at Seattle. Colorado has moved to 46-44 and down just three games in the loss column to first place Arizona.

Seattle Mariners vs. LA Angels—Mariners have won six of nine against the Angels this year. They have won seven of ten after beating Colorado on Sunday. They hit lefthander and righthander equally well.

LA sits at one game over. 500 after winning two of three at home to the Dodgers. Angels again experiencing injuries to their rotation and now replacement starters. They had to go deep into their minor league system to fill starting rotation spots. They have not hit well with a team batting average of .240.

Notable Weekend Series:

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates—Milwaukee had a good home stand winning six of seven games. The bullpen failed the Brewers on Monday in a 4-3 road defeat at Miami. There have been some bullpen meltdowns from this team in defeats.

Pittsburgh sits at 42-48. They finished their recent road trip terribly then dropped two of three at home to Philadelphia. Their pitching staff was crushed by the Dodgers and Phillies but has seen better performance in their past three games.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox—Toronto sits seven games under .500 entering Tuesday dropping five of their past seven games. Issues has been lack of hitting and poor performance from their starters.

Boston is being pushed by the New York Yankees as one of these teams will play in the one game wildcard playoff. Offensively they are crushing teams and covering run lines. Chris Sale is in great form. Team is 63-29 hosting Texas on Tuesday and jumped on them early in this game.

New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Indians—New York is getting home run production. Still have to wonder how this team will do against top line pitching in the playoffs. If they are to pass Boston in the standings they got to get better work from Sonny Gray, Tanaka and Domingo German.

Cleveland is running away from the AL Central has moved their record to 49-40 entering Tuesday. Bullpen is still an issue. Hitting has improved after a slow start and starting pitching has been good since the start of the season.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves—We talked Arizona Diamondbacks already.

Atlanta is in a battle with Philadelphia in the NL East. They need bullpen help as they sit below average in that area. They returned home after dropping two of three at the Yankees and three of four at the Brewers.

LA Angels vs. LA Dodgers—We talked LA Angels already

Dodgers getting their starters back in the rotation as Kershaw, Maeda and Hill are back in with Alex Wood who has been healthy all year. Ryu returns in late July. Puig hits the DL until late August but that may help the team. Dodgers back in the NL West race on the heels of the Diamondbacks.

Oakland Athletics. Vs. San Francisco Giants—We talked Oakland Athletics already

San Francisco has stayed in the NL West race on the strength on their play at home. They are ten games under .500 on the road. Bumgarner, Samardzija and Cueto are back in the rotation. Derek Rodriguez has been a surprise in the Giants rotation.

Then talk NBA, NFL and More!
