Notable Mid-Week Series:

Cubs at Dodgers—Dodgers continued their home play after a 2-1 home win to Chicago to open this series. LA returned home after crushing the Mets pitching in a three game series. Kershaw and Maeda have returned to the rotation.

Cubs are 0-5 on his road trip struggling for runs. They were swept in a four game series over the weekend at Cincinnati.

Angels at Red Sox—LA Angles starting rotation continues to be hampered by injuries. Angels have lost six of nine after dropping a 2-0 road decision at Kansas City on Monday. Out are Richards, Tropeano, Ohtani, Shoemaker and JC Ramirez.

Boston enters his series after winning two of three at home to Seattle scoring a total of 21 runs. Starters and bullpen getting it done for the Red Sox.

Notable Weekend Series:

Twins at Cubs—We talked Cubs already

Twins are 14-20 on the road. They broke a three game losing streak after beating Texas behind a good start by Jose Berrios. Minnesota struggles at the plate with a .235 batting average.

Red Sox at Yankees—We talked Red Sox already

New York responded with a 4-2 road win at Philadelphia on Monday after getting swept in a three game series at Tampa Bay over the weekend. A bad outing by Domingo German cost the Yankees the Sunday win after their lineup couldn’t produce offense in the first two games of the series.

Nationals at Phillies—Nationals drop a two game series at Tampa Bay getting shut out in each game after their 1-0 defeat on Tuesday. Team has dropped four of five. Their pitching staff has gotten torched in recent games.

Philadelphia has played well at home with a 24-14 record. They hit only .232 but there is concern about their starting staff with Arrieta, Pivetta and Velasquez struggling. Nola and Eflin have been good.

Astros at Rays—Houston looks to rebound after a 6-3 home defeat to Toronto. Team leads the AL West. Verlander has not been as dominant as he was earlier in the season allowing three runs or greater in three of his past four starts.

Tampa Bay after their 1-0 home win to Washington extended their win streak to five games. They have allowed one run or fewer in five of those games. To take the Rays more serious they have to get more offense.

Braves at Cardinals—Atlanta ran their win streak to two games after their 5-4 home win to Cincinnati on Monday. Braves have gotten great starting pitching on the season.

St Louis carries a three game win streak into Tuesday after their 4-0 home win to Cleveland on Monday. They sit 41-36 and dealing with injuries to Wacha, Wainwright and hoping that Carlos Martinez can get on track.

Giants at Diamondbacks—San Francisco continued their good play at home after beating San Diego three of four over the weekend. Johnny Cueto is due back in about three weeks. They sit 40-39 entering Tuesday.

Arizona after sweeping Pittsburgh in a four game series on the road dropped a 9-5 decision at Miami on Monday. Their bullpen has performed good and the Diamondbacks bats have woken up after a spring sleep. Godley is pitching tonight and has pitched well in his past three starts.

Indians at Athletics—Cleveland after sweeping Detroit and the White Sox in a three game series at home dropped a 4-0 road decision at St Louis. Indians beginning to separate from their AL Central foes. Offensive production continues and upward swing for the Indians.

Oakland have won seven of nine after their come from behind win at Detroit on Monday. They have been beating up on the Padres, White Sox and Tigers. They are a good bet against the bottom rung teams.

Rockies at Dodgers—We talked Dodgers already

Colorado sits two games under .500 as they play at San Francisco. They dropped their final two home games to Miami as they sit 15-22 in their stadium. Rockies starting and bullpen staff have struggled.
