Tigers at Rangers—

Detroit retakes first place in the AL Central by 2 games over Royals. After losing three of four to KC the team sweeps Cleveland in three games on the road.

Texas is 11 ½ games behind Oakland in the AL West standings. They go into Anaheim and get swept by the Angels and have dropped five straight heading into Tuesday.

Nationals at Brewers—

A battle of first place teams. Washington holds a two game lead over Atlanta. They beat Milwaukee in Game 1 on Monday 3-0. In their past three games heading into Tuesday the Nationals pitching staff has allowed a total of 1 run.

Brewers have a 4 ½ game lead over St Louis. Had their four game win streak broken on Monday in a loss to Washington. Closed out a 6-1 road trip by pounding NL West underachievers in Arizona and Colorado by facing them at the right time.
