Notable Mid-Week Series:

Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies—Two teams with bullpen issues. Phillies have been good at home and the Rockies good on the road. Rockies travels to Philadelphia on a down not after getting swept at home in a three game series against Arizona. Rockies have dropped eight of ten as the meet Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Phillies are also struggled They dropped two of three at home to Milwaukee over the weekend. The returned home off a road trip losing five of their last six on the trip. Phillies pitching has got hammered of late.

Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics—Houston has been good on the road with a 23-11 mark. They carry a five game win streak as they open this series. They hit the ball very well in their four game sweep at the Rangers over the weekend.

Oakland opens this series after winning three of four at home to Kansas City. They have gotten decent pitching but hit .240 as a team They are 34-32 as they open up this series on Tuesday.

Notable Weekend Series:

Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees—Rays faced the Mariners in seven of their last ten games and lost six of those contests. They had dropped eight of nine prior to beating Toronto 8-4 on Monday. They struggled for runs against Seattle.

New York is 22-9 at home as they host Washington tonight. They have won eight of ten as they opened this series. Severino has been solid. Question is can German, Tanaka, Gray and Sabathia keep it up.

San Diego Padres vs. Atlanta Braves—Padres at 31-37 still has a shot to be a competitor in the NL West race. They have won six of nine as they face the Cardinals on Tuesday. Padres bullpen has been good but starting pitching and hitting need improvement.

Braves at 37-28 dropped four of six at the Dodgers and Padres. Their starting pitching has been solid with an ERA of 3.52.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers—We talked Philadelphia already

Milwaukee host the Cubs tonight and have struggled against their rivals dropping eight of nine this season. Brewers have had issues hitting Cubs pitching. Brewers are still 39-27 on the season despite their 1-8 record against Chicago this season.

Chicago Cubs vs. St Louis Cardinals—Cubs sit at 38-25 are playing well winners of eight of ten after beating the Brewers on Monday 7-2 in extra innings. Cubs pitching has been outstanding during this run.

LA Angels at Oakland Athletics—We talked Oakland already

Angels have health concerns for Ohtani. This franchise has had back luck in recent seasons with keeping their starters healthy. They have dropped two straight after losing 5-3 at Seattle on Monday. Barria returns to the starting rotation with Ohtani out. Out for the year are Matt Shoemaker and JC Ramirez for the Angels.

Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners—Red Sox are off to a great start with a 45-22 record. They have won six of nine on the road at Baltimore on Tuesday. Steven Wright returned to the rotation last night tossing 6 2/3rds in a team victory. Boston is getting good work out of their bullpen with a team ERA of .298.

Seattle is finally playing to expectations with a 42-24 mark after beating the Angles on Monday. Mariners have won eight of ten and are winning close games.

San Francisco Giants vs. LA Dodgers—Giants have a long road trip from a series at Miami to travel to LA. Giants are in the NL West race with a 33-33 record. Bumgarner is back and the team has won seven of ten.
Dodgers sit at 33-32 and have a patchwork starting rotation due to injuries. Maeda returns off the DL on Tuesday. They host Texas on Tuesday winners of seven of nine. Weather will be hot this week in LA.
