Thursday October 9th—
7:30PM ET—Virginia Tech at Pittsburgh (ESPN)—
Pittsburgh favored by -1 ½ points with a total of 45 ½ points.
Panthers offense has struggled as the team is 3-3 and carrying a three game losing streak into this game. In that losing streak is a 21-10 defeat at home to Akron. Pittsburgh is averaging 16 points per game during this skid.
Georgia Tech is 4-2 with home losses to Georgia Tech and East Carolina. Junior quarterback Michael Brewers is battling consistency issues. Brewers has thrown 11 picks this far.
10PM ET—Utah at Oregon St (PAC12)—
Utah favored by -2 ½ points with a total of 53 ½ points.
Both teams are coming off a bye week. After blowing a big lead at home in a loss to Washington St the Utes bounce back with a two point win at UCLA getting +13 points.
Oregon St returns home after a 25 point loss at USC and a 36-31 win at Colorado. In that win against Colorado the Beavers ran the ball 32 times for 167 yards.
Friday October 10th—
8PM ET—Fresno St at Boise St (ESPN)—
Boise St favored by -17 ½ points with a total of 61 ½ points.
Take a ride on the Fresno St roller coaster. They start the year 0-3 and bounce back with three straight wins. They go into hapless UNLV last week and fall behind 17-0 at the half and force overtime where they lose by three points.
Boise ST comes of the bye week. After their 14 point loss at Air Force they go into Nevada and come away with a wild 51-46 win. Quarterback Grant Hedrick had a much needed solid game hitting on 26 of 31 passes for 346 yards with two touchdowns and one pick. The Broncos defense pick off 4 Cody Fajardo passes.
Saturday October 11th—
12PM ET—Baylor at West Virginia (FOX 1)—
Baylor is favored by -8 ½ points on the road with a total of 80 points.
In 2012 the teams combined for 133 points. Last year they combine for 115 points. Baylor behind Bryce Petty overcomes a 21 point fourth quarter deficit to beat TCU at home 61-58.

West Virginia is 4-2 with losses to Alabama and Oklahoma. The Mountaineers go into Texas Tech last week and win 37-34 as a -6 point favorite.
12PM ET—Kansas St at Oklahoma (ESPN)—
Oklahoma is favored by -8 points with a total of 58 points.
Last year the Sooners went on the road to Kansas St and win 41-31 as a +5 ½ point underdog. Oklahoma was able to hold off a charge by Texas in the Red River Rivalry and win 31-26 as a -16 ½ point favorite.
Kansas St is coming off a bye week. They have home wins to UTEP and Texas Tech after that Thursday night 6 point home loss to Auburn.
3:30PM ET—Texas A&M at Alabama (CBS)—
Alabama is favored by -11 ½ points with a total of 61 ½ points.
Texas A&M off back to back losses as they get beat by 15 points at home to Ole Miss last week .Aggies defense has allowed 83 points the past two games.
Alabama’s defense will be tested against this spread attack by A&M. Quiet different offensively philosophy than what they faced last week in a 14-13 road win to Arkansas.
3:30PM ET—UCLA at California (ABC)—
UCLA is favored by -7 points on the road with a total of 74 ½ points.
The Bruins dream for a final four bid in the NCAA college football playoffs took a severe blow as the team suffered its second loss of the season as Oregon wins 42-30. The game got away from UCLA as the Bruins gave up the first 21 points to the Ducks to open the second half.
After three straight wild games the California defense may have ran out of gas as they get beat 31-7 at home last week to Washington. Cal is allowing an average of 51 points a game against PAC 12 teams.
3:30PM ET—Rutgers at Ohio St (ABC)—
Ohio St favored by -19 ½ points with a total of 59 points.
Both teams are coming off bye weeks.
Rutgers is off to a 5-1 start to the season with notable wins on the road to Navy and Washington St and home to Michigan. Who knows if we see the good or bad Gary Nova here. Its tempting to take the points but Nova’s five interceptions at home to Penn St is a bit alarming.
After a loss at Virginia Tech the Buckeyes have blowout wins against bad defensive teams in Maryland, Cincinnati and Kent.
4PM ET—Georgia at Arkansas (SEC)—
Georgia is favored on the road by -4 points with a total of 58 ½ points.
The Bulldogs have four straight wins since their three point loss at South Carolina. Even with Todd Gurley suspended South Carolina crushes Missouri 34-0 on the road as a field goal favorite.
Razorbacks head coach Brad Bielama 0-11 against the SEC after a 14-13 home defeat to Alabama last week.
4PM ET—Oklahoma St at TCU (FOX 1)—
TCU favored by -9 points with a total of 62 points.
Tough loss for the Horned Frogs after blowing a 21 point fourth quarter lead at Baylor last week in defeat. TCU is now a spread offense. Quarterback Trevone Boykin was effective early but finished the game completing 21 of 47 throws.
After a week one 37-31 loss in Dallas to Florida St the Cowboys have strung together five straight wins. The competition was not very tough as they Big 12 wins came against Kansas, Iowa St and Texas Tech.
7PM ET—Tennessee at Mississippi (ESPN)—
Mississippi favored by -16 ½ points with a total of 46 ½ points.
In their past two SEC games Tennessee had “Close But No Cigar” results losing by three at Georgia and by 1 at home to Florida. They crushed FCS Chattanooga last week.
We will see if Ole Miss can avoid a letdown after back to back wins at home to Alabama and last week at Texas A&M.
8PM ET—Washington at Oregon (FOX 1)—
Oregon favored by -21 points with a total of 66 ½ points.
Oregon bounces back from their 7 point loss at Arizona with a strong second half performance in a 42-30 win at UCLA.
Washington also bounced back from their first loss of the season by 7 at home to Stanford by beating California 31-7 on the road. Question here is how fast at Huskies quarterback Cyler Miles has developed for this test.
8PM ET—Notre Dame at Florida St (ABC)—
Florida St favored by -11 ½ points
Notre Dame has a notable home win to Stanford. They gave up 43 points in a home win to North Carolina last week. This is by far the fastest team the Fighting Irish has faced this year.
Florida St in their two step up games has a six point win a neutral field to Oklahoma St and by six points in overtime to Clemson.
10:30PM ET—Stanford at Arizona St (ESPN)—
Stanford favored on the road by -3 points with a total of 54 ½ points.
The Cardinal beat ASU twice last year. At home the score was 42-28 and in the PAC 12 title game it was Stanford going on the road and beating the Sun Devils 38-14.
What I took from this game was the physical beat down that Stanford laid on the Sun Devils on the offensive and defensive lines. Arizona St enters off a bye week after winning at USC 38-34. Stanford separated late in their 17 point win at Washington St last week.
