October 2nd—
10:30PM ET—Arizona at Oregon (ESPN)—
Oregon -23 ½ points with a total of 76 points.
Arizona’s freshman quarterback Anu Solomon makes his PAC 12 road debut in this one. He had two picks in the Hail Mary home win against Cal in week four.
Oregon was beaten at Arizona last year 42-16. Last time was saw the Ducks they were in a heated road battle at Washington St where they win 38-31. Oregon has a 46-27 home win against Michigan St this year.
Friday October 3rd—
10:15PM ET—Utah St at BYU (ESPN)—
BYU -21 points total of 51 ½ points.
Cougars are a perfect 4-0 after a week four 41-33 win at Virginia. The Cougars defense allowed 519 yards to the Cavaliers.
Utah St 0-2 on the road win a 38-7 loss at Tennessee and in week four the Aggies fall in overtime 21-14 at Arkansas St. Aggies quarterback Chuckie Keeton is questionable with a knee injury. Utah St has had trouble defending the pass this season.
Saturday October 3rd—
12PM ET—Texas A&M at Mississippi St (ESPN)—
Mississippi St -1 ½ points with a total of 67 ½ points.
Texas A&M scores the last 21 points of the game in their overtime win to Arkansas last week. The Aggies defense held the Razorbacks to just seven points in the second half and overtime combined.
Mississippi St will be coming off a bye week. Remember in week four they go into Death Valley and beat LSU at night 34-29. A 34 point fourth quarter lead was chopped to five points with 1 ½ minutes left though.
12PM ET—Florida at Tennessee (SEC)—
Tennessee -2 points with an over under of 55 points.
Florida off a bye week following their 42-21 road defeat in week four at Alabama. They do have a home win to Kentucky in overtime 36-30 in week three that looks pretty good. Their defense has allowed 72 points in their past two games.

Tennessee gave Georgia a scare as a +19 point road underdog last week as they took a 10 point lead early but fall 35-32. The Volunteers stayed in the game behind their offense and good execution by their defense on third down limiting Georgia to just 1 of 10 conversions.
3:30PM ET—Oklahoma at TCU (FOX)—
Oklahoma -4 points with a total of 56 points.
Oklahoma is the more tested team as they have a home win by 24 to Tennessee and in week four they go into West Virginia and behind big plays come away with a 45-33 victory. Question for the Sooners is if the run game is ever slowed down is Trevor Knight a good enough quarterback to lead the team on his arm alone.
It is hard to trust TCU with quarterback Trevone Boykin. During his career he has had difficulty converting third down plays. They have played a weak schedule with the notable win coming at home to Minnesota.
3:30PM ET—Stanford at Notre Dame (NBC)—
Stanford -1 point with a total of 44 points.
Two solid defenses collide here. Quarterback edge for the Fighting Irish. Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan ran in a game winner last week. Coming up with that big play late has not been his strength in his career at Stanford.
Notre Dame needs to clean up its act because five turnovers will get you beat against Stanford. The Cardinal is favored here because I believe they are not respecting the Fighting Irish opponents they have beaten this year.
3:30PM ET—Baylor at Texas (ABC)—
Baylor -16 ½ points with a total of 57 points.
Baylor had not been tested up until last week. They went into Iowa St and defeated Iowa St 49-28. They took a 35-7 lead into the half.
Charlie Strong will have to open up this Texas offense. They have averaged just 16 points per game over their past three contests.
3:30PM ET—Alabama at Mississippi (CBS)—
Alabama -6 points with an over under of 51 points.
Alabama is coming off a bye week. The offense lit up Florida in week four for 42 points and 645 yards in their 21 point win.
Ole Miss’ defense will be greatly tested here. They held a good Memphis team to three points last week. The Rebels are 4-0 but quarterback Bo Wallace already has six interceptions in his first four games. He had two last week in a home win to Memphis.
7PM ET—LSU at Auburn (ESPN)—
Auburn -7 ½ points with a total of 56 points.
LSU has won three straight and six of their past seven against Auburn including a 35-21 home win last year. That loss to Mississippi St two weeks ago saw the Tigers defense give up 570 yards. After falling behind 34-10 early in the fourth quarter LSU did respond with three unanswered touchdowns and fell five points short.
Auburn survived a scare at Kansas St in week four but came away with a Thursday night 20-14 victory laying -7 points. The Tigers are 15th in the nation in scoring defense giving up just 16.2 points a game.
7:30PM ET—Miami at Georgia Tech (ESPN2)—
Miami -2 points with an over under line of 56 ½ points.
Have to be concerned about Miami’s 0-2 mark on the road with losses at Nebraska and Louisville with a freshman under center here. The Hurricanes defense came up big in a 22-10 home win against Duke last week. Brad Kaaya has four road interceptions on the year.
Georgia Tech coming off a bye following a come from behind win in week four at Virginia Tech. The Yellow Jackets defense has looked suspect in many of their games this year.
7:30PM ET—South Carolina at Kentucky (SEC)—
South Carolina -5 points with a total of 55 points.
The Gamecocks suffered their second SEC conference loss of the year after losing at home 21-20 to Missouri last week. South Carolina ran for just 2.8 yards a carry on 42 rushes.
Kentucky is an improved team in 2014. Though they couldn’t cover as a -16 ½ point home favorite to Vanderbilt last week winning 17-7. They went into Florida and put up 30 points in an overtime defeat.
8PM ET—Nebraska at Michigan St (ABC)—
Michigan St -7 points with a total of 58 points.
Nebraska is off to a 5-0 start. The question is if the Spartans can contain Ameer Abdullah and the Cornhuskers run game is quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. able to win this game on his own.
Since the Spartans loss at Oregon they have crushed both Wyoming and Eastern Michigan at home. It’s the Big Ten opener for both teams.
7:30PM ET–Arizona St a USC (FOX)—
USC -11 ½ points with a total of 66 points.
The Trojans returned off their bye week and stymied the Oregon St offense as USC wins 35-10 and covers as a -7 ½ point favorite. But Oregon St is not a running team and that’s what BC did to USC in week three.
Arizona St gets crushed at home last week to UCLA 62-27 as a +3 point home underdog. Behind a backup quarterback the Sun Devils turned it over four times. QB Taylor Kelly is listed as out again for the Sun Devils.
10:30PM ET–Utah at UCLA (ESPN)—
UCLA -13 points with a total of 60 points.
After their win at Michigan in week four the Utes in their PAC 12 opener are beaten by Washington St 28-27 as a -13 point favorite. The Utes blow a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
UCLA catches a break as they play Arizona St last week who was forced to start a backup quarterback due to an injury to Taylor Kelly. The Bruins took advantage of four Sun Devils turnovers and put 62 points on the scoreboard in a 35 point win.
