Friday December 29th, 2017
Sun Bowl
3PM ET–NC State vs. Arizona St (CBS)
NC State -6.5 with over under odds 59.5
NC State had dropped three of four until they beat North Carolina at home 33-21 but not covering 15 points. Wolf Pack has a good passing attach that throws for 271 yards.
Arizona St carries a two game win streak as they beat rival Arizona Wildcats 42-30 as a two point underdog at home. Sun Devils then fired their head coach. ASU was a poor defensive team allowing 447 yards per game with 5.1 yards per rush.
Music City Bowl
4:30PM ET—Kentucky vs. Northwestern (ESPN)
Northwestern -7.5 with over under odds 51
Northwester carries a seven game win streak into their bowl game. They beat three bowl teams in that streak in Purdue, Iowa and Michigan St. They held their past three opponents to 20 points combined.
Kentucky is 7-5 and enters on a two game losing streak after a 44-17 home defeat to Louisville. Kentucky has allowed 37 points or greater in three of their past four.
Arizona Bowl
5:30PM ET—New Mexico St vs. Utah St (CBS Sports Network)
Utah St -4 with over under odds 61
New Mexico St needed back to back home wins to Utah St and Idaho to become bowl eligible. Both teams are 6-6.
Utah St closed the season with a 38-35 road defeat to a down Air Force team. Aggies beat up on the lower tier Mountain West schools.
Cotton Bowl
8:30PM ET—USC vs. Ohio St (ESPN)
Ohio St -7.5 with over under odds 64.5
USC is rested and will get healthy after their three point victory to Stanford in the PAC 12 title game. Trojans always look faster in bowl games and that comes with rest and healing.
Ohio St has to overcome the letdown of being the last team out of the playoffs. They beat Wisconsin 27-21 in the Big Ten title game and their defense faces the run and pass threat of the Trojans.
Saturday December 30th
Taxslayer Bowl
12PM ET—Louisville vs. Mississippi St (ESPN)
Louisville -6.5 with over under 63
Huge injury for Mississippi St as Nick Fitzgerald is hurt and out of this game. Backup was unimpressive in their home defeat to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
Each team is 8-4. Behind quarterback Lamar Jackson the Cardinals finished strong with three straight victories putting up 38 on Virginia, 58 on Syracuse and 44 on Kentucky.
Liberty Bowl
12:30PM ET—Iowa St vs. Memphis (ABC)
Memphis -3.5 with over under 66
Iowa St finished at 7-5 as they dropped a 20-19 defeat at Kansas St for their third loss in four games. Prior to that they beat Oklahoma on the road and TCU at home.
Memphis had their seven game win streak snapped in the AAC championship game losing 62-55 in overtime at Central Florida. Defensively Memphis allows 476 yards and 33 points per game.
Fiesta Bowl
4PM ET—Washington vs. Penn St (ESPN)
Penn St -2 with over under 55
Both teams 10-2. Huskies bounced back from their road defeat at Stanford with a three point home win to Utah and a 41-14 victory at home to Washington St in the Apple Cup. Other loss came at Arizona St 13-7.
Penn St carries a three game win streak after their 66-3 road victory at Maryland. Losses came on the road to Ohio St and Michigan St by three points or less.
Orange Bowl
8PM ET—Wisconsin vs. Miami (ESPN)
Wisconsin -6 with over under 45
Home game for Miami as they look to reset following at Pittsburgh and a 38-3 defeat in the ACC title game to Clemson.
Wisconsin looks for better quarterback play after their 27-21 defeat to Ohio St in the Big Ten title game to finish 12-1.
Monday January 1st
Outback Bowl
12PM ET—Michigan vs. South Carolina (ESPN 2)
Michigan -7.5 with over under 43
Wolverines finished at 8-4 as they dropped back to back games to close out the regular season at Wisconsin and home to Ohio St all by double digits.
South Carolina played above expectations and earned a berth to New Years Day bowl. They fell at home to Clemson 34-10 as a 12.5 underdog in their final regular season game to finish at 8-4.
Peach Bowl
12:30PM ET—Central Florida vs. Auburn (ESPN)
Auburn -9.5 with over under 67
Central Florida finished at 12-0 but showed their warts on defense in their 62-55 home victory to Memphis in the AAC championship game. Prior to that they beat South Florida 49-42 as a 10 point favorite.
Auburn looks to rebound after their 28-7 defeat to Georgia in the SEC championship game after their 26-14 home victory to Alabama.
Citrus Bowl
1PM ET—Notre Dame vs. LSU (ABC)
LSU -3 with over under 51.5
Notre Dame finished at 9-3. They dropped two of their past three games with road defeat at Miami allowing 41 points and at Stanford giving u 38 points.
LSU are winners of three straight and six of seven after a 45-21 home victory to Texas A&M with the loss coming to Alabama. They kept it together after their home defeat to Troy.
Rose Bowl
5PM ET—Georgia vs. Oklahoma (ESPN)
Georgia -2 with over under 60
Each team is 12-1. Georgia beat up on Auburn 28-7 in the SEC title game. Defensively Bulldogs are holding teams to 270 yards per game.
Oklahoma was impressive in the Big 12 title game beating up on TCU 41-17 for their eighth straight victory after their 38-31 home defeat to Iowa St.
Sugar Bowl
8:45PM ET—Alabama vs. Clemson (ESPN)
Alabama -3 with over under 47
Alabama eared a spot to the playoff without playing in their conference championship game. They come off a 26-14 road defeat at Auburn
Clemson crushed Miami 38-3 in the ACC championship game as a 12.5 favorite. They have won sixth straight after their 27-24 road loss at Syracuse.
