Tony and Mitch break down the big college basketball games this week from a Las Vegas point spread angle.
Wednesday February 14th—
6:30PM ET—Xavier vs. Georgetown (FOX 1)
Xavier -6.5
Xavier looks to bounce back from a 16 point home defeat to Villanova to break their nine game win streak. Villanova has the Musketeers number.
Georgetown after dropping six of seven games earn a home win to Butler and an overtime road win at Butler.
7PM ET—North Carolina vs. Syracuse (ESPN)
North Carolina -3.5
Tar Heels have a have won five straight. They come off a Saturday night 93-76 win at Louisville. In this win streak are wins at home to Duke and at NC State.
Syracuse has won three of four following a 62-55 win at Miami. Orange has a recent five point win on the road to Louisville. They have struggled shooting threes this season.
Louisville vs. Duke (ESPN)
Duke -11.5
Louisville has had issues in step up games as they have dropped four of their past six games. After back to back blowout wins to Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech came that 17 point defeat at home to the Tar Heels.
Duke responded after back to back road losses at St Johns and North Carolina with a three game win streak with notable wins at home to Virginia Tech and at Clemson.
Thursday February 15th
9PM ET—UCLA at Utah (ESPN)
Utah -3
UCLA sits at 10-5 in conference and Utah at 9-6. Bruins won and covered at home last week to the Oregon schools. Team has won six of their past seven games making a strong case for an at large bid tied for second in conference.
Utah has won four straight after sweeping the Washington schools last week on the road. They beat the Huskies by 12 then the Cougars by 7. Utes have won four straight and six of eight.
9PM ET—Washington at Stanford (PAC 12)
Stanford -4
Both teams sit at 8-6 in conference. Huskies broke a three game losing streak with an 82-59 home victory to Colorado.
Stanford sits one game over .500 overall. They had dropped five of seven until a 77-73 road win at Cal failing to cover.
11:30PM ET—Arizona St vs. Oregon (FOX 1)
Arizona St -1
Arizona sits in first place in the PAC 12 at 11-3 overall. Oregon is 7-7 in conference. Wildcats after dropping back to back games at Washington and home to UCLA has bounced back with a 14 point win at home to USC. Then it was a seven point win at Arizona St.
Oregon had a touch week in LA last week dropping a two point decision at USC and by eight in overtime at UCLA failing to cover as a three point underdog. They had won five of six prior to their LA trip.
Friday February 16th
7PM ET—Dayton vs. Rhode Island (ESPN 2)
Rhode Island -14
Rams in action at LaSalle on Tuesday with a 13-1 record in the A10. They looked to bounce back from a loss at St Bonaventure.
Dayton is down as the team is 6-8 in conference as they host Saint Louis tonight off a ten point home win to Fordham failing to cover as a 12.5 favorite. They lost at home to Rhode Island by 14 points.
8PM ET—Ohio St vs. Indiana (FOX 1)
Oho St -3
Buckeyes will move to 14-3 in the Big Ten as they pounded Rutgers. They are one game ahead of Michigan St in the Big Ten this regular season finale.
Indiana sits 9-7 in the Big Ten as they travel to Nebraska tonight on a three game win streak after beating Iowa on the road.
Saturday February 17th
1PM ET—Louisville vs. Virginia Tech (CBS)
Virginia Tech -3
We talked Louisville already.
Virginia Tech is 7-5 in the ACC winners of three of four after a 20 point win at Georgia Tech. They are hosting Clemson on Wednesday.
2:30PM ET—Villanova vs. Creighton (FOX)
Villanova -6
Villanova is 10-2 in the Big East as they host DePaul on Wednesday after a 16 point road win at Xavier. They bounced back after that loss at Xavier.
Creighton moves to 8-7 in the Big East after getting blown out at Butler tonight by 23 for their second straight defeat.
4:15PM ET—Kansas vs. Texas Tech (ESPN)
Texas Tech -5
Kansas sits one game back in the loss column to Texas Tech. Jayhawks have won three straight after their 30 point home victory to Oklahoma after beating West Virginia by 8 at home.
Texas Tech leads the Big 12 at 9-3. Red Raiders are at Oklahoma St on Wednesday after a two point road loss at Baylor which broke a seven game win streak.
6PM ET—Kansas St vs. Oklahoma (ESPN 2)
Oklahoma -4
Both teams sit at 6-6 in conference. Kansas St host Texas on Wednesday on a two game win streak after a 12 point home win to Iowa St.
Oklahoma is sliding towards the bubble. Needs a win here. Sooners have lost six straight after a 30 point road loss at Kansas.
8:15PM ET—Missouri vs Kentucky (ESPN)
Kentucky -4
Missouri is 7-5 in the SEC as they host Ole Miss tonight looking to bounce back from a one point loss at LSU that broke a five game win streak.
Kentucky is at Arkansas tonight as they broke their four game losing streak with a ten point home win to Alabama.
10:15PM ET—Arizona vs. Oregon (ESPN)
Arizona -2
We talked about both teams already. They met back on January 13th with Arizona winning 90-83 failing to cover as a -9.5 favorite. Wildcats shot 54.3% with 40% from three and survived 17 turnovers.
Sunday February 18th
1PM ET—Michigan St vs. Wisconsin (CBS)
Michigan St -8
Spartans look to keep pace with Ohio St sitting one game back as they hit the regular season finale. Michigan was up big to Illinois tonight looking to built on a ten game win streak.
It has been a poor season for Wisconsin as the team is 11-16 overall and 4-10 in conference. Badgers are at Northwestern on Thursday winners of two straight and three of their past four games.
5:15PM ET—Penn St vs. Nebraska (BTN)
Nebraska -1
Nebraska has the look of an at large team sitting at 11-5 in the Big Ten. Cornhuskers are hosting Indiana tonight looking to bounce back from a road defeat at Illinois.
Penn St is will host Michigan on Wednesday as they had their four game win streak snapped in a three point loss covering at Purdue.
